Three ways to start
Click the toolbar icon to choose a local PDF. On a public PDF link or supported open PDF tab, use the context menu or toolbar action. On supported Google search pages, choose Annotate PDF next to a PDF result. A PDF open in Chrome's own viewer gets an Annotate in CleanEdit PDF button in the top corner; × hides it.
Access is tied to your action
The extension reads links on its listed Google search domains to show the result button. On pages whose address contains .pdf it only checks whether Chrome is showing a PDF, to place its button there; for this Chrome warns at installation that the extension can read and change data on all sites. To download a linked PDF, the editor asks for access to that source site after you click Open linked PDF. It does not need permanent access to every PDF source at installation.
The same PDF workspace
Once open, add text, drawings, highlights, images or a visual signature and download a PDF copy. Linked PDFs come directly from their source site; the extension does not upload the document to our server.
